Feed My Lambs

Feed My Lambs
Summer Lunch Program

The Feed My Lambs Summer Lunch Program is currently in its planning and scheduling phase and the committee is appealing to the Body of Christ to sign up for the opportunity to serve.

This will be the 5th summer that volunteers have come together to share the love of Christ in a sack lunch for the children of the community who may not have something to eat during the summer break. During the school year, nutritious meals are provided for school age children both at breakfast and lunch. However when the children are out for summer vacation, those healthy meals may also be on vacation!

Volunteers from Columbia United Methodist, St. Mary’s Episcopal, Bethel Presbyterian, St. John’s Altar Guild and First Baptist will be working together to purchase, bag and deliver approximately 600 lunches per week during June, July and August. This act of love takes careful planning and mind-boggling scheduling. The service itself (preparation and delivery) takes only an hour or two per scheduled day. Ways that you may serve in this ministry are: food donation or preparation, food delivery, agape preparation and/or donation, financial assistance or prayer for the program’s purpose. You may volunteer to work in as many areas as you like.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to serve your Lord by feeding His sheep. Please give the opportunity to share in this outreach mission prayerful consideration and remember that Jesus commanded Peter in John 21:15 – “If you love me, feed my sheep.”

Service forms are available at the receptionist’s desk of the Columbia United Methodist Church office. You may also call Lynn Loggins @ 345-5867 or 292-4570 to volunteer. Christ is counting on YOU!
